چکیده

This paper is an application of ontology theory, conceptual graphs and programming language theories to develop the theoretical foundations of natural language programming (NLP) that has in recent years been used to produce natural language documents for intelligent agents and human readers. The analysis given reveals three benefits of NLP. First, it is “conceptualized” programming that enables developers to write less bug prone programs due to clarity of code presentation and enforced structuring of data. Secondly, NLP can aid programming of the all important abstractions for robots: event, action and world model abstractions can be created by sentences. Thirdly, NLP can be used to publish natural language documents by researchers, i.e. English language documents on control theory and procedures, on the Internet or in printed documents. This theoretical paper also defines a large class of intelligent agents that can read such documents. This enables human users and agents to have shared understanding of how application systems work.

Caesar: an intelligent domestic service robot

In this paper we present Caesar, an intelligent domestic service robot. In domestic settings for service robots complex tasks have to be accomplished. Those tasks benefit from deliberation, from robust action execution and from flexible methods for human-robot interaction that account for qualitative notions used in natural language as well as human fallibility. Our robot Caesar deploys AI tech...

New Paradigm of Context based Programming-Learning of Intelligent Agent

In this paper we propose new paradigm combining concepts “programming”, “learning” and “context” for usage in development of control system of mobile robots and other intelligent agents in smart environment. And we suggest architecture of robot’s control system based on context and learning with natural language dialog. The core of this architecture is associative memory for cross-modal learnin...

My research focuses on the computational foundations of intelligent behavior. We develop theories and systems pertaining to intelligent behavior using a unified methodology – at the heart of which is the idea that learning has a central role in intelligence. We attempt to understand the role of learning in supporting intelligent inference and use this understanding to develop systems that learn...

Translating English to Reward Functions

For intelligent agents and robots to be useful to the general public, people will need to able to communicate the tasks they want the agents to complete without having any technical knowledge or programming ability. Communicating tasks to agents via natural language is an especially appealing way to accomplish this goal. Similarly, providing agents with demonstrations of what they should do giv...

A New Intelligent Approach to Patient-cooperative Control of Rehabilitation Robots

This paper presents a new intelligent method to control rehabilitation robots by mainly considering reactions of patient instead of doing a repetitive preprogrammed movement. It generates a general reference trajectory based on different reactions of patient during therapy. Three main reactions has been identified and included in reference trajectory: small variations, force shocks in a single ...
